Who We Are
Student Self Defense Advocates (SSDA) is a student-led project of Next Generation Advocates dedicated to empowering students through self-defense education and advocacy. Founded in response to rising violence—especially among students—SSDA educates on self-defense, creates awareness through social media, and promotes safer school environments.
Our mission is simple: help students feel safe, confident, and prepared—because every student deserves the power to protect themselves.
Meet The Team
Logan Lee
Hi, I'm Logan and I am a rising sophomore at Crescenta Valley High School. I am a big foodie, and I love a great adventure! I started SSDA because I love advocating for what I care about.
Tevyn Yong
Hello my name is Tevyn Yong, and I am a rising sophomore. I enjoy watching sports, mental health care, and cooking foods from around the world. I believe in self defense and the importance of protecting yourself from others.
Seonho Kim
My name is Seonho Kim I am a rising 10th grader at Crescenta Valley Highschool and as to follow my passion of health, medicine and safety, I became a member student self defense advocates.
Siwoo Choi
Hey! I'm Siwoo Choi. I enjoy watching many different shows, hanging out with friends, practicing BJJ, and most importantly, eating delectable foods. I find life valuable, and believe safety is critical for day to day life. Through the Student Self Defense Advocates, I hope to make a difference in the world!
Brandon Baek
I’m Brandon and I love sleeping and researching AI. I value keeping everyone, even strangers, safe in an increasingly dangerous world, leading me to join Student Self Defense Advocates.
